Today while I was looking through animal stories from this week, I saw a very cool post about a sea turtle named Heartbreak. Now, don’t worry about getting your tissues out this story starts off as heartbreaking but it gets better.
Oriana Kalama has a group named Ocean Defender Hawaii and just recently they lived up to their name. I am sure they have done other great things to help Hawaii but, this story is about a sea turtle…how much better can it get?
Anyway, she was out about a month ago and saw a sea turtle with a huge tumor. When I say huge, I mean huge. She got some photos of the poor animal and posted them to her Facebook group. Of course people responded…no one wants to see an animal suffer like that. In fact, the turtle got enough attention that a medical team decided to jump in and help the poor sea turtle known as Heartbreak.
Now, I’m not going to give you all of the details about the wonderful people of Hawaii that helped. You can go over to sea turtle with tumor to see a picture of Heartbreak and find out how he is doing after having an 8.5 pound tumor removed.
This is one of those stories that proves 1 person can make a difference by sharing and caring.
