I was not really looking for animal news today, I was shopping and came a cross a very cool fish puppet. I of course would never want to by a puppet for a kid if it didn’t look real. Nothing worse than a kid that makes you feel dumb because you got a fish “toy” that looks fake. So off I went to see if the Cuttlefish puppet I found looked real enough.

This is where my problem started…I went to look at Google images to see some pics of the real fish. I looked for a long time and didn’t find one exactly like the puppet. In fact…there was no real set markings for cuttlefish. So, I thought I had better do a little more research.

Here is what I found….cuttle fish change colors and markings as fast as their surroundings do. They have to work super hard to blend in and not be seen. Apparently they are yummy and lots of things would call them lunch if they could only see them.

Here is a video that will show you just how good these animals are at changing…No critter could have lasted in the ocean for 50 million years if they weren’t good at either hiding, being super fast, or having some dangerous ninja moves.

Now this fish has some serious Harry Potter Invisible Cloaking Skills.

Can you tell it’s Saturday and I have kid brain because of cartoons and shopping for fish puppets? At least I can say I learned something new today. LOL!
