The other day we wrote a post How You Can Help The Animals In the Japan Tsunami leading to a list of animal rescue sites that are helping after the tsunami in Japan. That post also has a video of 1 dog staying with its sick friend and trying to get the reports to come help them.
Now CNN has put out a story about the problems some of the animal rescues are having in Japan. It is not only a huge mess of ruble, the animals may be hurt, without food, some animals were left tied outside and it is freezing cold. All of these things mean that getting to any animals needs to be done fast. The rescues are also getting calls because people have evacuated from areas that are around the nuclear reactors. Some of these people are leaving the country all together and do not have time to get things lined up to transport their pets. To fly with an animal over seas takes a lot of preparation such as medical records and even getting the pet on n airline can be hard. So, some people are just leaving the pets and wanting rescues to pick them up to take care of. Yes, it is a royal mess for the animals and those working hard to save them.
Now you can help with your support donations from the list we have at the link above. These rescues want to do all they can but they can’t do it alone. food, shelter, traveling…all cost money. You can also go to the CNN article, Welfare groups race to rescue Japan’s abandoned animals, and read more about the problems the rescues are facing and hear what some of them are trying to do to save as many animals as they can.
