I love a happy ending! It isn’t everyday that we hear or see an animal abuse story that ends on an up side. Many times these stories lead to one heart break after another. That is why today’s animal news story will be different!
Not heartbreaking news…happy news. News that will make you smile, cheer, and just want to get up and do the Happy Dance! Go ahead and bust a move!
If you have read about (Help Ban Wild Animal Acts in the UK) Anne the 57 year old elephant that has been living for the last 50 years in a zoo and was recently rescued after video of abuse…you will be happy to know that she is in her new home!
I even found a site that has pictures of Anne playing in the sand pit of her 13 acre enclosure. She has her head buried like a little kid free to get dirty for the 1st time in her life!
Oh and will many more wild animals soon be free from a life in the circus? Looks like it may be so…Britain May Soon Ban Wild Animals in Circuses. Oh yes, more happy dances!!

I also read where one of the first main contributors to help Anne and other rescued elephants get a better enclosure was none other than the evil and snarky Simon Cowell. HA! He is not so mean after all is he? But, I already new that he was an animal lover from our post last year Simon Cowell has a Soft Spot. Maybe Simon is like a lot of other people I know and just likes animals more than he does most people (with good reason). ;-)
Anyway, it sounds as if Anne the elephant will be joined at Longleat safari park with 5 other rescued elephants! They will be getting a new area where they will have a swimming pool, a wading area, heated housing…they will be ready to have a party! Not sure how long it will take for the enclosure to be built or for the elephants to adjust to each other but, I at least know they will all be back to a real life as they could ask for.
