As I was watching for some cool animal news today, I saw a tweet about a brand new blog. This blog is about having pet pigs. It comes complete with videos of a few of the cute little gals.
I’ve only known a couple of people that have had pet pigs so, I know they are adorable and very smart animals. They can make great pets but, would they be a great pet for everyone? I think not. Before you get any pet there are things that you should take into consideration about your area, your personality, and the time you have to give.

Getting any type of pet is a huge undertaking and you should make sure that you are getting an animal that fits your lifestyle. Pets should come to a family that is committed to taking care of them throughout their life. Pet pigs are no exception. While looking around this new blog, I found that pet pigs have a pretty long lifespan, need a special vet, and training! The blog also has some helpful tips about looking for a breeder, new pig introductions, and litter box training.
They also have a live mini pig cam. It wasn’t on when I visited the site so, I will be checking back later. Since I can’t have a pig where I live, I’ll just get my giggles watching other peoples.
Please understand that I would in no way discourage you from getting a pet pig…I just want to encourage you to be well informed before adding a lil squealer to your family.
