Some interesting animal news out of Canada today. Seems animal lovers are up in arms over a family Christmas card sent out by MP Justin Trudeau. It shows he, his wife, and 2 kids waring coats with fur trimmed hoods and snuggled under a fur blanket.

FYI- I am not from Canada.

I can understand how some people in Canada would say this is OK. Canada has been well known for its fur trade. Yet, I just don’t know as boasting that you are fine with killing animals for fur is a very smart political move. Many people in Canada are animal lovers and are even fighting the fur trade industry there.

You can see the picture and the full story at Animal rights group irate over Trudeau’s Christmas card.

Those of us in The States have seen just how Sarah Palin has been ran down the tracks for her killing of animals. In fact a few people are getting slammed for “Hunting with a smile” attitude as is talked about in More Celebrities in the Spotlight for Killing Animals. Even Micheal Vick that had dog fights and killed the animals has served time in jail and is still dealing with the shadow of animal abuse that follows him.

Is Vicks killing dogs because they aren’t good fighters the same as Trudeau wearing fur, Palin shooting anything that moves (and taking pics), Gentry killing a tame bear? To animal lovers and those that despise animals being killed for “show and tell” the answer is probably yes.

So do you think people in the spotlight should be a little more aware of how people (that are responsible for their income) think of animal cruelty and abuse?

Just as an added thought, I sure hope Canada does do something about their seal fur trade.
