So what happened to Mary Bale, the woman caught on tape putting a cat in the trash bin?
Well, she has been charged with causing unnecessary suffering to the cat. She is charged under the 2006 Animal Welfare Act.
Thank goodness this woman did not get by with her act of evil. We know people were ready to hunt her down, in fact they did…that video of her on YouTube is how she was identified. Now she can get a bit of punishment through the legal system. Although I am not sure what type of punishment the legal system there will have for her, something is better than nothing. I’m sure she will think twice before luring an animal into danger again.
At first she claimed it was a joke but, to actually pet the cat, be friendly, look around to make sure no one would see, and then just toss the poor kitty in a trash bin was cruel and thought out. I’d hate to see what practical jokes she plays on friends if she thought it was funny to throw the cat in the trash…hope she doesn’t do babysitting.
So what punishment do you think would be fitting for her. Please be realistic, you can’t hang a person for doing what she did. So maybe she should have to stay in a trash dumpster for 15 hours just like the cat did? How about making her work at an animal shelter for ____ amount of time? Maybe talk to local kids and explain that acting out on a “moment of madness” is a really bad idea??
