I have started seeing post about this year’s drive for Christmas for the Troops. Many places will be setting out boxes to gather toiletries, snacks, books, calling cards, magazines…to send in special Christmas Care packages to our military men and women overseas. Some places are also asking for small toys or candy that the troops can have to give children around their areas.
You may be wondering why I am bringing this up. Normally all we ever post is news about animals. So, hang tight…I’m getting to the animal part of this post.
When you see these collection boxes there is someone else that may like a little care package. How about those super special K-9′s that are helping out our military? Who thinks these hard working dogs could use some treats, a kong, or pull toy? That’s right…the dogs would likely love it! Not sure how often they get anything special. I am sure that the dogs handlers would be so excited to know that people at home remembered how special the dogs are. The dogs really are part of the units family and family always wants to see all of their members happy.
So when you see that donation box, don’t forget the K9′s that are giving their lives to save the lives of our military personnel and others!

Maybe you have a special pet store that will be willing to collect especially for the Military K-9 unit.
