A new law has been passed for Clark County Nevada. This new law will require that all dogs & cats be spayed/neutered by 4 months of age or face $1,000 fine & jail time.

They say this will cut down on illegal back yard breeders & cut down the amount of animals entering the shelters.
I see their point a little, it may cut down on accidental pups or kittens. I agree with others that 4 months is very young to have your pet spayed/neutered.
They say you can apply to get a breeders permit for $25. The only problem is your pet MUST have been in shows.
I also think that the illegal backyard breeders are NOT going to follow the rule. Most of those don’t even follow the current laws.
I can also see where some people may be concerned with the cost of the spay/neuter. I figure that Clark County should foot the bill. At least give discounts that everyone can afford.
How much will it cost to enforce this new law?
Will they soon be having people get fixed so the county doesn’t have to foot the bill of low income residents?

Your an idiot and a huge part of this problem. Have you ever been to a shelter? Have you volunteered your time to the thousands of animals that are picked up or dropped off each day? If you had the slightest idea you would stop talking about your rights and worry about the rights of the animals. In LasVegas alone over 140 dogs are placed in shelters EVERYDAY! They only keep about 300 dogs out in the adoption area. Where do the rest go? Take a wild guess! That happens because people like you want to breed your dog and create more puppies than the public can take in. Educate yourself before you start blabbing about rights.

SPCA is fixing kittens as early as 6 weeks and pups as little as 8 weeks this will for sure cause permant mental retardation in the animal. That is the same as fixing a human at 42 weeks old. I was at the clark county meeting when they politicans passed that brillant law. I also heard the 40 plus vets tell them they were idiots but what do they know they only went to college for 10 years. Gee the politicans must be smarter from all of the drugs they are snorting. You would have to be on crack to think that new law is a good thing. It is the animals version of the HOLOCAUST.
