Many of us are still wondering what is going on the the Gulf since the oil spill last year. We have heard that it is all cleaned up and everything is fine but, we know better.
On February 25, 2011 we posted some information and videos about Baby dolphins washing on shore down in the Gulf area. Baby Dolphins Still Dieing From Gulf Oil Spill. After that little bit, I have heard almost nothing more about why or how many baby or still born dolphins they have found. Now, I might know why so little info is out.
Check out this animal news story on Reuters titled Government tightens lid on dolphin death probe. It says that even scientist that spend their entire lives monitoring dolphins are not being given any info about the deaths.
The Government agencies say they are holding the samples from the dead animals as they would evidence in a murder investigation. Murder investigation is right…they should put up crime scene tape around the beaches & Haz Mat tape around the BP offices.
So do you think we will ever find out what caused the dolphins to miscarry or have still births?
I have a feeling that BP and the Government will do all they can to cover up as much info as possible. I’m sure they wish that all the sea life that is going to die would just float out far away so no one will find it. But, in the time it takes for the gov to do its investigation and all of this get settled…the scientist are going to loose important data (that they may never get to see even after the fact).
I bet I am still writing about this in 10 years. I still won’t have access to all the info then.
