Most of us that read a lot of animal news already know that many animals are smarter than people think. Animals just do things a bit differently and humans just don’t get it, YET.

Today I found a cool story about dolphin communication. A study off the coast of Coasta Rica is finding that when Bottlenose and Guyana dolphins come together, they change the way they communicate. That’s right the 2 different types of dolphins may be trying to tell each other something. Maybe they are saying “Hey, hows the fishing out that way?”. Ok, that may be a stretch but, who knows.

The study they are doing with the dolphins is incomplete due to the fact that the listening devices can not be sure if both types of dolphins are changing the frequency of their chat or if it is only 1 set changing.  Either way it shows that dolphins are trying to send the other species a message.

Most humans can not even talk to others of the same species. Especially if 1 is male and the other female. ;-)

Ok, go over to Dolphin species attempt ‘common language’ and check out the latest on this study.
Now, if we could only get the people that are killing off these amazing animals to understand that dolphins are smart feeling creatures that need to be saved.

More people need to be educated as to how important it is to keep these animals safe in our oceans. If you want a great way to teach kid about them, you may want to look at getting a stuffed dolphin puppet. Kids love animals and most love learning about them so, get them excited about saving the animals that live in our oceans.
