Live animal cams are popping up like crazy. Who doesn’t love to watch animals? Especially those animals that you may never get to see in real life.
Sure you may get to see an eagle, hawk, ducks, bunnies, or bears in real life but, how often would you get to see inside their home? Yeah, best of luck climbing up a tree to look inside an Eagles nest at the eggs. Pretty sure you could lose an eye or more. Eagles don’t seem like the type of animal that would just let you sit up by their babies all day. Even if you could get up and look inside the nest, it would be putting the little ones in danger. No one really wants to disrupt an animals nest or cause harm to the young so…thanks to technology…we can all sit at home and watch these nest and animals live. The cams also do not seem to bother the parents.
The other day we posted about the Decorah Eagles Cam that is out of Decorah, Iowa. That cam has been filled with viewers every time I look.
Today while flipping through my Animal news tweets and links, I found another live eagle cam feed. This cam is ran by the Next Era Energy Resources and BioDiversity Research Institute. So, here you can see a eagles nest that is located in the Coastal Maine area. So be sure to stop over at the NextEra Maine Eaglecam 2. They do seem to have a night vision camera as I know it is night time in Maine and I can see the Mother/Father eagle sitting on the nest. This nest looks huge and is setting in a pine tree (from what I can see). I am sure with morning light, there will be a bit more action.
I will be adding more live animal cam links as I find them.
These live cams are a wonderful way for kids of all ages to see their favorite wildlife in the natural setting. Maybe the kids can even discover a new “favorite” wild animal. So why don’t you take a little break and sit down with the kids to take a peek inside the homes of some awesome animals. Who knows…the kids may want to do a little extra research. Awww, reading is much funner when it is about something cool…like that eagle you are looking at. ;-)
