If you were a Vervet Monkey who would you want for a teacher, the dominant male or female?
Well, as we all know…females make better teachers. At least female vervet monkeys.
You can see a little info about a study done on how these monkeys learn new things at Monkey Schoolmarms: Vervet Monkeys Learn Better From Female Teachers.
It states that monkeys watching a male open a box for a treat really didn’t learn much from the experience (if anything). Yet, the ones that watched the female open the box were much more efficient at getting to the snack inside.
I personally think that maybe females are just smarter at everything & these little monkeys know it. lol
