Thought I would throw out a short animal news story today that is kind of happy. I get tired of sad stories about animals and I bet you do too.
Well, this week in Fort Meyers, Florida the police got a call about a baby osprey that was dangling from a light post. This sounded odd to me until the story explained that their was a fishing hook in the birds wing ant the fishing line was caught on the nest and that left the poor baby bird hanging upside down 40 feet above ground. Thankfully there were some very caring and skillful firefighters that just happened to have a ladder truck and the time to climb up and help the little bird down.
You can see the full story and the video at Firefighters save baby osprey dangling from Fort Myers light pole.
YEAH Fireman!
Boo to the idiots that do not dispose of their fishing gear properly. Sure the person that lost the lure may not have been able to retrieve it if their line broke….blah, blah, blah. But to many times people don’t even worry. They are more likely to think of the cost to replace lures or hooks then they spend thinking about the hazard it could cause.
Anyway, go over and check out the video to see the nice fireman and the little osprey who will hopefully recover and be out free again.
