National Geographic has started posting pictures of birds that are coming in covered in oil in Louisiana.
This area that will possibly be covered in oil is the nesting spot for many types of birds. In fact the Brown Pelican just recently came off of the endangered species list only to find its home oil soaked.
I think soon we will see otters and turtles be washed into shore as they ingest oil or become soaked and can no longer swim or feed. Dolphins and whales will hopefully stay out of it as the oil can cause skin problems. I am sure that if they are not careful they may also ingest it from oil covering food they may eat.
