This post is not exactly a story about animals but, it is about the Gulf Oil Spill. The same spill that is killing off animals that live in and around the waters of the area.
I watched this on 60 Minutes last night and it really tee’d me off. To think that any of this spill could have been avoided and yet the big guys did nothing. They may not have ever thought about how these mistakes could affect nature. Maybe they thought that people cared more about fueling up their cars than protecting our oceans. Heck, maybe they didn’t even know masses of oil in the ocean would do any damage to marine life. Yes, at this point I am deeply questioning their intelligence.
I think anyone that would like to hear how 1 man that was on the oil rig that day should go watch the 2 part 60 Minutes interview – Deepwater Horizon’s Blowout. They talk with Scott Pelley who tells of small problems and event leading up to the disaster.
Even though I have never worked on any type of oil rig…I understood what he said and how this could have been avoided if they had only slowed down, forgot about their wallets, and fixed things rather than brushing them off.

After you watch the 60 Minutes interview, let us know what you think…
Could all of this been avoided?
Who do you think is really responsible?
Who should pay for the clean up?
Should they also have to pay relief for all of the people who lost income due to this spill? (Fishermen, resorts…)
