This year on Feb. 23, 2010 will be The Humane Societies Spay Day. This will be the 16th year that they have used 1 day to encourage people to help save lives by getting their pets spayed/neutered.

We all agree that our pets health is #1. You can safely have your pet “fixed” by a veterinarian. There may be some people that think spay/neutering your pet is cruel. But what is cruel is having a bunch of puppies, kittens, bunnies… that don’t have homes. We also know that sometimes pets have a hard time with pregnancy and birth,  which is something I don’t want to put my pets through just because I didn’t make a trip to the vet.

I did find a list of Low Cost or Free Spay – Neuter Programs in the United States as the article states, some clinics only deal in cats, low income families…You will need to call the agencies in your area for details. I think that even if you have to call a few places to find one that will help you get your pet fixed…it will be time well spent. Heck, you only have to do it one time. Any time we have had our pets spayed or neutered, they were back up and going in no time.

I know that some places are puting spay and neuter laws in place like – Las Vegas Area – Clark County Nevada Spay-Neuter Laws. They are going to fine owners of pets that are not registered as breeders and are not fixed.
