We all know that when PETA sets its sights on an organization they are very head strong and do not stop the pursuit easily. They sometimes seem to go after some places to the point that people may wonder why they don’t find better targets. I am thinking that sometimes anything can be found if that is your only goal and you spend 24/7 looking. Could the story below be a case where PETA is looking to hard for fault?
The director of G.W. Exotic Animal Park (in Wynnwood, Oklahoma) believes that one of his employees has been coping files from the parks computer so they can be turned over to PETA. He was also tipped that the same employee was using a camera to get pictures or footage of the conditions. This same park has been the eye of another PETA investigation in 2006.
You can see the entire news article at Exotic Park director claims group spied, stole information, put out by News OK.
While I see no reason that pictures or video should be damaging, unless they are altered or used in cuts to change the true story, Computer records should not be taken without some type of court order. If taking copies is legal or OK for 1 organization then no ones business is protected from just anyone taking records.
So do you think PETA has overstepped its bounds since its 1st investigation of this park was dropped by the courts?
Are they really concerned about the animals or are they just determined to find fault in this case?

PeTA Failed with their fake video and false reports the first time as every agency cleared us of any wrong doing and gave us a perfect inspection. The problem is they still made money off of exploiting us to people who do not know better. Sending them money thinking they were going to help our animals when in fact all they did was hurt them by hurting our funding. Now the second time yes they broke the law and their will be arrest made soon. The goverment declared them Domestic terroist as of Nov. 30, 2009. So please take anything you read on the internet with a grain of salt before you pick up a phone or go somewhere to see for your self.
Now Joe, PETA would not do any investigating if there weren’t something going on and you know that, right? The video shown is very disturbing and those so-called employees on the video really were not appropriate individuals to have working with animals. I certainly would not trust them with any animal and would fear for its well-being with any of them. They looked and acted like they didn’t give a damn, too busy smoking their cigarettes and talking to the camera, while the horse is laying on the ground suffering. What is up with that? The video didn’t show anything more than what was really there and you can’t for a minute deny that, can you?
You have no business taking care of animals if you REALLY can’t take proper care of them, which of course, includes appropriate fresh food and fresh water along with vertinarian care. Is that a difficult concept for you? Do you understand that animals DO NOT belong to us, humans…do ya get it? You are definitely an embarrassment to the human race and the sayer of “sanctuary for animals”??????????? Shame on you!

Peta has certainly crossed the line this time, and has clearly broken the law. I do not understand how they continue to get away with their molestation of places which are obviousally doing what is best for the animals. G.W. Exotics is one of the cleanest facilities I have seen in a very long time. It has qualified people there that take pride in the care of their animals. Peta has become nothing more than a fringe terrorist group and should be stopped before they get even more out of hand.
I used to think PETA was for protecting animals. But in recent years their credibility has been quite questionable. I think they are much more into sensationalism and hurting innocent entities that don’t deserve to be targets. The recent news story of planting a volunteer at G.W. Exotic Park to steal computer records was very enlightening on the lengths this organization will take to, in my opinion, get even with someone who disproved their allegations & shed light on the not so ethical practices of their members.
Joe is a very hard working individual who has given of himself to care for his animals and he and those animals have suffered enough as targets of Animal Rights Extremists.
Being a recent customer at GW’s and in no way affiliated with any outside organization was personally horrified at some of the things i witnessed on my tour there. From the unsavory associates working there to the 3 legged coyote they have on display there wasn’t much to look at. A few big cats that looked totally unhappy in undersized cages and animals looking very depressed from having there litter recently taken from them. I recommend to anyone that is planning on going to GW’s to take a second and research them, if it was just peta it would be one thing but several organizations are going after GW’s for a reason….
G W Exotics needs to be Shut Down for the horrible tiger mill that it is!
It’s a shame that the USDA failed to prosecute on the grounds that it was a ‘PETA’ video and not a USDA video.
Joe Exotic (Joe Schreibvogel) has a long history of exploiting/abusing animals and it NEEDS to stop!
I find it humorous that someone who claims to affiliated with no one says the same things as someone that is affiliated…coincidence??? First off, 192 is more than just a few big cats. Also, mothers never “look depressed” because their cubs were taken from them. Anyone can walk through the facility and see how happy all of the animals are and it is quite evident that they are taken care of. Complaints do not come from people that have ACTUALLY visited GW. The only people that say anything bad is those that get all of their information off the internet and are highly misled.
There is no history of abuse, they have never been cited for such a thing. This is a term used by animal activists that is very misleading and wrongfully used. Exploitation is up for interpretation as any zoo or sanctuary “exploits” their animals in order to get money to take care of the animals.
The fact of the matter is GW passes their USDA inspections and has a beautiful park that is an amazing experience to visit. Everyone should actually go check it out themselves (really go visit) before forming an opinion.
OMG you’re even dumber. the abuse IS KEEPING THEM IN CAGES.
So just before you write another dumb comment like this know that keeping wild animals in cages IS THE ABUSE. And everything else escalates from there, including inbreeding.
I watched the Louis Theroux dangerous pets documentry last night. Firstly i was shocked that people even kept these kinds of animals as pets.
But you can clearly see that joe schreibvogel these animals. it doesnt mean i agree with it. in my eyes these animals shouldnt be locked up in cages, but should be living their lives freely in the wild. but im not stupid enough to believe other will agree with me. the owner of this park does look after the animals, i do think its a shame that they are being bred though. But again i can see he is trying to make the money to be able to fund the running of the park.
I was shocked people even wanted to have their photos taken with an animal which has a chain round its neck. It breaks my heart people think this is cute….how about going to africa and seeing these animals in their natural habitats. letting them live their lives the way they are meant to.
of course none of what i have to say will make a differance. and i do believe the animals of this park are being looked after its just a shame that they have to live in the cages that they do!
You are a dumb hick pig who needs an education. Because the one you already have is not working. All the money you’re putting into abusing, inbreeding and keeping wild animals for trophies could be better spent on helping keep these animals safe in the wild (where they belong).
If your goal is truly to help these animals (which it blatantly isn’t to anyone with half a brain) then helping them sty safe in their natural habitats would be your priority. Keepng them in cages as trophies makes your priority selfish, abusive and extremely harmful to innocent animals.
Soon this volatile act will be illegal (if I or PETA have anything to do with it) and I hope you get locked up for a long time like you have done to these poor animals.
Yours VERY sincerely,
Danica Davis
