It seems that in Jacksonville, Florida they have a Custody battle between the city and the owners of 62 animals that were confiscated, in October of 2009, because of abuse.

47 dogs and 15 cats were rescued from matted fur (so bad they couldn’t walk) because they had feces and urine all over them.

Some of the animals had to have serious medical attention. Right now the city is looking at a huge housing and medical bill all because of the Puppy Mill owners neglect.

Now, the owners want the dogs and cats back? That is crazy. Who would give them back? Well, apparently the mill are still considered the owners so this case will be going before a judge to decide if the animals are given back or placed with new loving families. Bet you can guess what I’m hoping for.

Do you think all ownership should be taken away when animals are confiscated for abuse and neglect?
If so where do they draw the line of what abuse and neglect are?
