I am sure you may have already heard that Wikileaks put out info showing that the EPA, USDA, and Bayer may have known for a long time what is causing the drop in numbers of Honey Bees.
Well, it seems that Bayer has been using the chemical Clothianidin for a very long time. It could be as far back as 2003. They were given the a chance to use it but, they were suppose to do studies as to the effectiveness and the effect on honey bees. Needles to say, they never did the study as it was suppose to be done.
I do have links that will give you a bit of the story where wikileaks come in to this “bee cover up” – Wikileaks Document Shows EPA Knowingly Allowed Use of Pesticide that Kills Honeybees. It even tells how the EPA was going to give the Bayer company permission to use the chemical even more. Mind you that Bayer has never done a proper test on this chemical.
Ok, so I was then surprised tpo find out that this is not the 1st problem Bayer has had involving bees. Here is an article from May 23, 2007 that states the German Bayer AG had been using a chemical ( imidacloprid) that they suspected of killing of bees. The company sold the product under several names since 1994. You can also read this full article at Widely-Used Bayer Pesticide Blamed for Mass Deaths of Honeybees. Be sure to take note as to where and when the chemical was banned.
I also found an article from 2003 where Bayer was blamed for killing off honey bees in France. You can see the article that points to Bayer killing bees possibly as far back as the mid 1980′s Synthetic honey and GMO bees.
In October of 2010 we posted an article (Have Researchers Found What is Killing the Honeybees ) leading to a story where researchers at the United States Army-University of Montana believed that CCD was caused by a fungus or infection. I of course put a heavy blame on GM foods. You can decide for yourself if they come into play. But, this MAY be connected to the next link….
While I was at the Bayer site (did you know they are all about going green?), I found a press release from them dated November 16, 2010. Guess what they are bragging about in this release? Helping bees! Yes, they are helping the lil guys by developing a product to help bees fight off ( or exterminate) Verroa Mites. They plan to launch it in the USA in 2011.
Here is a quote from their site
“Bayer is aware of its responsibility as a producer both of crop protection products and of bee health products”, said Dr. Franz-Josef Placke, Head of Development at Bayer CropScience. “Therefore, we are investing in research and development to provide beekeepers with sustainable solutions to improve the health of their bees and beehives.”
Bayer CropScience acquires varroa mite control product from Exosect is the press release from Bayer.
Hello….isn’t that a bit of BS? They have knowingly been killing off honey bees for years, they have slid by cheating on test, they have probably bought and sold someones soul. I suspect that they have filled the pockets of many people at the EPA, USDA, and the FDA. Now they want to try and fluff the idea that they are going to help bee keepers?
I also wonder when the name Monsanto will come into all of this? They are big on messing with food, animals, and plants. These companies seem to create a problem or fake problem so they have a reason to fluff the public into believing they must agree to GM and chemicalized foods. I suggest that you watch for any company that fights for legislation to “help” make food or health better by selling their own products.
Ok, I left each little lead in short so this post wasn’t a mile long. Go read the various articles and see what you think.

Why has not someone stopped them? Did not they know we need the bees for food?
