Bolivia has laid down the law as to having wild or domestic animals in circuses. The circuses there have either followed the law and found homes for their animals or the Government has come in and confiscated the animals. That means that a few animals will be moving out of the country.
With the help of Animal Defenders International’s (ADI), 25 lions will be “set free”. No they will not be turned loose in the jungles but, they will get to be out of their small traveling cages. They will have the chance to lay down in the grass with their fellow felines at the Wild Animal Sanctuary in Keenesburg, Colorado.
You can read this entire animal news story at Walton couple’s mission to rescue circus lions.
Can you imagine what it would be like to live your whole life in a small cage only to be let out to preform? Constantly having a trainer making you do unnatural things only to be put back in cage and moved to do it all again.
I wonder how these big cats feel as they lie out in the sun for the 1st time in possibly their life. Then there is the fact that they will get to run…yes, run. maybe they can try their hand at lounging in a pond, or stretching up a tree. The things that many animals get to do everyday to make their life normal will be the things these lions will now get to do for the 1st time.
