The cost of owning a pet can be troublesome for some families that have lower incomes. Sometimes the cost of spaying or neutering their pet is a bit to much, they tend to put it off and try to prevent any unwanted puppies, kittens, or bunnies on their own. This can lead to accidental pregnancies that mean more animals are left in the shelters homeless.

Well, in today’s animal news I found a program that is helping low income families get pets spayed or neutered at an affordable price throughout Minnesota. They also provide low cost vaccinations for pets getting surgery.

They have a great website that has a calendar of event locations. They also have a list of eligibility requirements under the PET OWNERS tab. There you will also find all the contact information.
If you live in Minnesota and are looking to get your pet spayed/neutered then please visit Minnesota Spay Neuter Assistance Program’s Mission.

This is a non profit organization. I am sure they would also appreciate any donations to help support this wonderful project.

You can also find them on Facebook at MN SNAP or Follow them for updates on Twitter at MNSNAP

Pet overpopulation is a huge problem, shelters in every state seem to be filled to the max. Having your pet “fixed” is a not only helping to cut down on unwanted animals…it is also helping your pet have a healthier life.
