On Wednesday Dec 30th an employee at the Colorado national Monument found a dog that had been dragged behind a vehicle until it died.
The dog was found with a rope around its neck & it was decided that someone started slowly with the dog at a walk, then sped up to a run, until eventually the dog was being dragged. This was approximately a  2 mile trip.

Rangers opened up a hot line for tips about this horrific crime.

On Thursday a man was arrested & charged with a felony of aggravated cruelty to animals. The tip line worked, they found the man they believe did this. You can see the story & who he is Colorado National Monument Rangers Charge Man in Connection With Dog Killed By Dragging.

I really hope that the court system deals with him in a manner fitting the crime. I think we need to make it clear to people that animal abuse is not acceptable & there will be high consequences. We have been far to lenient on animal abusers.
People that are cruel to animals are  very likely to be cruel to other people.
