There has only been 1 wolverine spotted in the State of Michigan in the last 200 years.
In 2004 some hunters spotted one and a teacher had been keeping track of her movements since.
Some think she may have been an exotic pet that was turned loose when she became to much to handle…they are not cuddly pets.
On Saturday this 1 of a kind Michigan creature was found dead. They think she was about 7 years old. As far as they could tell at the time of finding her she did not seem to have been intentionally harmed.
The article states that many wolverines can live to the age of 17 in captivity. Since she was in the wild and on her own, 7 years may have been a normal life expectancy.

The wolverine lives primarily in isolated northern areas, alpine regions of Alaska, Northern Canada, Siberia and Scandinavia. They are also native to Russia, the Baltic countries, and Northern China and Mongolia.
