Have you always wanted to name an animal in the zoo?
Maybe you have the coolest name ever picked for an African penguin and just never been ask to name one of the little critters. Now is your chance but you have to hurry! You only have until Sunday August 22, 2010 to get your name in.
The New England Aquarium in Boston, Massachusetts has a baby penguin that has no name. They are asking the public to help them find a great name that has meaning. They use the penguins for education so, the name does need to have educational value. Come on…you know you have a great name that could be used. The winning name will also get a Behind the Scene Tour for the person who submits it. If you are the winner, you could meet some penguins up close.
Now take thought and go over to Penguin Chick Naming Contest and get it in. You can also see some of the names of other penguins that live at the aquarium already.
If you are like me and only come up with cool names like George, Harry, Yoda….You may want to see about getting yourself a Stuffed Penguin Puppet to call your own and name as you like. Then you can pick out any name that may only have personal value rather than an educational side. In fact that is about as close as I’m going to get today with being up close and personal with a penguin. I am not so great at winning contest so, I just get my own animals and do a little pretending. LOL!
