If Michell Obama can have honey bees then who is to say that other people can’t?
Well, in New York it had been banned to have kept honey bees within city limits..that was until Tuesday March 16, 2010. For people to have bee boxes could cost them a hefty fine. Yes, up to $2,000. That’s a lot of honey money!
Most people had kept their bees a secret but, now they can enjoy their hobby and reap the sweet benefits.
With so many people turning to natural health, honey is an obvious sweetener.
Bees have also been used for years to pollinate crops. Bee keepers move their hive boxes out to farm fields and let the bees do what they do naturally. It’s a win win for the farmers and the honey market.
There may not be to many crop fields inside New Yorks city limits but, I am sure there are some really nice gardens that would welcome the bees.
