Ok, we have a way for all of you to help get some very special 4 legged friends a free lunch!
Yes, you can help get food donated to shelter dogs in 2 ways.
1.) You can write a blog post (by Sept 10, 2010) and let people know about Pedigree Adoption Drive.
2.) You can go to Facebook and give a LIKE to Pedigrees Page.
Pedigree is donating a 20 POUND bag of its quality food to shelter animals for every blog post written about their Adoption Drive by today. I know you will have to hurry.
Once You write your blog post then go to I Love Rescue Animals and add your link to your blog post so Pedigree can find it easily.
For every “Like” they get to their Facebook page they will donate 1 8oz bowl of food to shelter animals. So far they have donated 1,114,681 bowls of food just from people like you and me that hit their “Like” button on Facebook. Just think of all those furry full tummies sleeping tonight.
I know some people feel they have to get a dog from a breeder so they get a “good” one…HACK! That is just crazy talk. When you go to a shelter you will find many of the most wonderful dogs ever. Families all over the USA will tell you that their rescue dog is one of the best ever. You can also find a variety of sizes, shapes, and colors. As far as pure breed vs mutt…you can find many pure breeds at shelters. In fact many shelters will let you put your name on a list if a certain type of dog becomes available for adoption.
I’m going to add one of my own thoughts about mutts. I love mutts! They are one so special, I mean anyone can go and buy a dog that looks like every other dog in its breed…but a mutt…they are very seldom duplicated. We have people ask all the time what kind of dog we have…if you would see her you would understand. We tell them she is a….well….she is something.
It doesn’t matter what you want your best dog would be like…you can find it in a shelter. From puppies that need lots of attention to old dogs that just need love, you will find your new best friend in a shelter.
Here is one video that tells about Corky and his time in “doggy jail”. As you will see this little shelter dog has become a super star (at least to some people like me, he is a super star). Corky is a dog that we have met through Twitter, I think he is a great example of what love shelter dogs have and are just waiting to share with a family. You can see more about this shelter dogs new life at his YouTube channel – CorkyStory.
Please visit a shelter and find the super star pet for your family!
Don’t forget to write a blog post and go LIKE the Pedigree Facebook page!
Wendy, thank you for picking my all time favorite video to illustrate your blog post (and your very kind comments), plus a special thanks for promoting shelter pet rescue. *hugs
My parents are aware of a DNA kit for testing mutts like me for very specific mix broken down by breed and percentage. They could care less, and treat this doggy jail ex-con pauper like a prince!

Thank you so much for taking the time to post about this event! With the help of everyone we were able to raise about 8,000lbs of food!
