Holy smokes! Squirrels in Texas are now considered dangerous animals that must be “taken down” by police officers!
That is not a joke. Squirrels are known to attack children and the police must take action (insert sarcasm).
Here is the video from a Jr. High (Kimbrough Middle School) in Texas where a school yard is under attack by what could be a rabid baby squirrel. Even though very few times are squirrels ever found to have rabies…you can never be to cautious.
Beware when watching the cop pepper spray the attacking baby squirrel. The girls screaming in the background make you want to pepper spray them and just let the squirrel eat them. Man eating squirrels are common in Texas.
Was that crazy or what?
When I was growing up, we were taught that if an animal was acting aggressive it was best to leave the area and see if the animal was just scared. Many times people get to close to the animals home and the animal is not crazed…it just doesn’t like the humans in its area.
The squirrel in this video could have also figured out that the people around were nuts and it was just trying to collect them for later.
I did see reports that the baby squirrel was picked up by animal control and was later released into the wild. Apparently the baby animal was NOT rabid or they would not have turned it out.
I have a family of bunnies that come into my yard…I am off to the self defense store to get some pepper spray. I sure don’t want to be a statistic in the “People Killed By Bunny Rabbits” studies. Oh No! I just thought about the little ground squirrels that come by our yard…I’m so scared I can’t leave my house now.
