Wow, I have missed some very cool animal news that I must pass along now (just in case you also missed it).
Going to Kenya to photograph the annual migration of wildebeest would be so cool. Sure wildebeest are not really cute but, seeing and documenting how they migrate would be ok (even non cute animals need love).
What could be more exciting than being out following a herd of wildebeest? How about stopping along side the Mara River for a few pics? There should be all types of animals coming to cool off and get a drink. The photogs probably knew they might get a few shots of some hippos taking a cool soak but, they may have not realized they were going to see something that only a few people have ever seen in real life.
Will and Matt Burrard-Lucas saw what they believe may be a leucistic hippopotamus. Translation into normal terms means a pink hippopotamus. This young hippo is really pink (no I have not been drinking). You can see their story and pictures of this awesome animal at Rare Pink Hippo Discovered in the Masai Mara. There you can also see why the photographers do not feel the hippo would be considered albino.
Nature continues to amaze us everyday….go outside and find some wonderful things in your area.
