The last day of 2009 was not a the way many animal rights advocates hoped the year would end.

For years people have marched, protested, & preached how circus animals need to be treated better or that circuses themselves need to be outlawed.

At the top of these fights have been the Ringling Brothers Elephants. I had just posted the other day Pictures of Baby Elephants Abused for “Entertainment”. I was for sure that any judge in their right mind would see that circuses really have no use & treating the animals bad just added to fight to shut them down.

This year they  have had a trial where animal rights groups asked the judge to stop the circus from harming the elephants during performances and punishing them for bad behavior. The trial ended Wednesday Dec. 31, 2009 when a Federal Judge rules for Ringling Bros. in elephant case.

What a sad way to end a year. Here’s hoping that 2010 will be the year of the Anipal.
