Pet Talk: Rabbit helped woman survive, escape domestic abuse
A story that may to often be true….To escape domestic violence a woman left her home with bruises, cuts, & her beloved best friend.
These 2 were living on the streets. Somedays only having enough food for 1 of them. Like many mothers the woman made sure her ‘child’ had food. At night the woman found security in having her best friend near her.
Many might expect to see a homeless battered woman with a dog, this lady had her rabbit named Ruby Angel. It wasn’t the size of Ruby that made her feel safe, it was the fact that she had to be strong to care for Ruby.
These 2 saved each other…Isn’t that what friends are for?
Both had been abused & are now on their way to a better life. It’s bitter sweet that they have been split up for now…Here’s hoping they will be together safe & secure soon.
