Today in animal info we found a very cool story about a new species of lemur.
Now if I understood the video right, the new little critter is called the lemur Phaner. It is not just a very cute bundle of fur. It could help save a forest. Since the one forest is the only place this animal has been found, there is good reason to protect the habitat.
Oh, when I say it is cute…it really is. It has very cool markings over each eye that meet in the center of its head to form a single line down its back. It has little fingers that are very capable of grabbing and holding things. The one thing the video mentions it what looks like an extra tongue. They say it is probaly used to gather nectar.
Ok, go over to New lemur found in Madagascar. Then tell me that isn’t the cutest animal you have ever saw. Its short dense fur looks so soft. I just hope some wacks don’t decide that they want to start catching and trapping them for pets or the fur trade.
If you ever think you want a lemur for a pet you should just get a Stuffed Ring Tailed Lemur. They are easy to care for, take no specialized training, don’t mind being captive, and are also easily reproduced.
