Why are white rhinos are still under attack by poachers?

In the article I read today, it says there have been as many as 300 rhinos killed in the last 20 months in South Africa. 2 of those were killed just this week.

Poachers just want the horns of these huge animals. It seems that people in Vietnam and China still want these horns for “medicine” even though it has been proven there are no medicinal properties in the horn. How should this be handled? How do we get people in these countries to understand that the magic of the horn is not in killing the animal and making some “potion”?

The article Two more rhinos gunned down by poachers in South Africa this week even states that they feel there are professional poaching syndicates.

Sure there is money to be made from killing rhinos, taking the horn and selling it but, have they thought about the fact that at this rate there will be no rhinos soon?
