In Washington State they have accused 2 teenage boys of going out and killing deer for fun.
The boys are thought to be out spotlighting the animals. Well, growing up we called it spotlighting. That is when you shine a light in the animals eyes so it is blinded. This means the animal will normally stand completely still and then the “poacher” shoots it. I know that this practice is illegal most places.
These 2 teens were not killing deer to feed their families. They only took the deer heads/antlers (as trophies). I hope a bunch of people don’t try to blame their bad behavior on the down turned economy….
The boys accused in this case are not the only ones out thrill killing animals. Washington State has dealt with similar cases.
I fear that people going out and killing for fun will soon decide that they want to try their new “thrill” on something other than a deer or elk in the woods.

Take note that the boys posted pictures online of their kills…at least it’s easier to catch stupid criminals.
