When I was out looking at animal news today I came across an endangered species that I had never heard of. That would not be a big deal if it was some odd little creature that lived at the bottom of the ocean or in some far away country. But, this animal lives right here near the USA.

Off the shores of California there is a small porpoise that is said to be about the size of a retriever.
There are only about 150 Vaquita left in the Baja Peninsula.

Fishing nets seem to be a huge threat to these super cute animals. The fact that they are also very shy means that very few people have ever seen them. It makes it hard to save an animal that many people don’t even know exist. You have to go over to “Vaquita: Will a Tiny Porpoise Be the Next Endangered Species to Go?” to see a short documentary and they also have a few pictures.

By sharing the information the site above gives is a great way to bring awareness to these awesome critters.
