We have all seen the bumper stickers and such that say “Save the Whales”. Most of us may think they should be saved just because….well, because they should. We don’t even know what part of the eco system they play a part in.
I mean what do sperm whales do besides eat a few fish or squid? Not much else that I know of so, I guess they help control the population of those species. Or is there much more to just a little population control?
Well, of course there is! I just had to find an article that talks about whale poop. Yes, whale poop is the hot topic of the day.
Some biologist from Flinders University of South Australia have taken the time to explain how this sperm whale poop is a much needed part of removing carbon from the atmosphere.
I am not even going to attempt to tell you about it..you can get the Scoop on Whale Poop at Whale Poop Cleans the Environment.
