We have all heard about all the FDA Egg Recalls going on in the last few weeks. Have you started thinking about how all these eggs got tagged as having the potential for Salmonella?

I was looking through our Twitter Stream today and saw a link to a informational graphic that may help you understand how these Salmonella outbreaks are happening. Look at going to your local farms and finding out how their chickens are kept. I know there are normally places that will let you buy farm fresh eggs. It maybe at your local farmers market. Yes, it may not be as easy as going to the neighborhood grocery store but, this is your health. It also sends a message to chicken farmers that we do not want them to raise their birds in small unsafe cages just for the sake of their wallet.

My grandmother lived off of selling eggs, chickens, and garden vegtables all her life & I never remember any of her customers getting sick from her goods. Her chickens also roamed in HUGE lots. They ate feed but, they also had plenty of  grass, bugs, and natural nutrients.

The only safe salmonella would come in the form of a Giant Microbes Stuffed Salmonella toy. It looks much cuter as a plushie that it does in real life.
