Today in animals news we found that scientist are taking great care with the dead animals and all testing that has been done surrounding the wildlife that has been killed due to BP’s Gulf oil spill.
Americans were told that BP and those responsible for the Gulf Oil Spill would be held accountable if it is found that they violated laws such as the Endangers Species Act, Clean Water Act and others. If they are found to have broken these laws, they will face fines and penalties. You can see the full story at Dead animals in Gulf to play role in spill fines.
A little on the side note – I remember reading that many of the animals that were being “picked up” by workers were not tagged or turned in to officials, so how many of those will not be counted as casualties when the numbers get added into fines?
How many animals will scientist never know about because the dead bodies were swept out to sea?
Will the Government and scientist continue to monitor how wildlife is effected over years?
We know that the FDA and other Government agencies have tried to tell us that the oil “vanished” and that fish and other seafood from the Gulf was already safe…we know that is a lie. (See Oil Soaked Crabs Still Dying in Gulf Coast Catch )
I have a feeling that no matter how much care is taken to keep the samples of the dead animals under lock and key, we still will not know the full impact for years.
