On March 31, 2010 the the Wolf Hunting closed in Montana & Idaho.
Some are celebrating that the wolf population has been shot down while others realize that these hunts will harm family units.
The gray wolves were just taken off of the Federal Endangered Species list in April of 2009. That let these states load up their guns for hunting.
The article Idaho and Montana Wolf Hunts End States Plan to Kill Even More Wolves Next Season states that about 500 wolves were killed. They not only killed adult males but also a pup as young as 5 months.
I would think that if they do not regulate size, age, & gender then hunters will soon be killing anything they find. This could mean that females with pups could be killed & the pups will be left to starve…I find that to be animal cruelty. Almost all other hunting regulates gender & age so, it should apply here if they are going to continue hunting. Personally, I say leave the wolves alone…all animal populations will level out according to food source if man would step back & leave them alone.
