You know the old saying of “the early bird gets the worm”?
Sure ya do and you have maybe wondered how hard is it it for a bird to get a worm. They see one pop out of the ground, grab it, maybe give it a tug and off they go with breakfast…what a cinch.
What if that bird was an owl? Owls are pretty tough birds and a worm would be no match for them if they have 3 baby owlets waiting at home hungry.
Well, owls maybe tough but, a worm can be tough to get if that owl is only 7″ tall and only weighs 6 ounces.
Britain’s smallest owl may not be big in stature but, they have all the determination in the world. There is no way they would let their family go hungry. That’s right they will get the worm.
You can go over to How Britain’s smallest owl (7inches and 6oz) won a very big battle with a worm to see this complete animal story and the pictures of the momma owl fighting to get the worm. They also have pictures of the adorable owlets. The story is great but, the pictures are even better.
I think owls are so cool. They have such a serious look.
